2005 (05) Vauxhall Corsa C Design 1.2L 16v Twinport
Further pictures will be added ASAP.
The girlfriend and I are regrettably selling our Vauxhall Corsa due to now sharing a family car. I’ve owned the car since October 2008 and bought it from a reputable Vauxhall dealership. It had one previous owner before me.
The Corsa is a Vauxhall Ultrablau Pearl (21B), 5 door Design – this means It has a sunroof, air conditioning, remote central locking, front electric windows, remote central locking, a CD player with steering wheel controls, power steering, ABS, driver and passenger airbags, engine immobiliser, heated electric wing mirrors, colour coded mirrors, bumpers and door handles as well as ISOFIX childseat compatibility.
In short:
Good points:
· 81354 miles
· New windscreen 2010
· New sump July 2010
· New Battery January 2011
· Very good interior
· MOT until April
· Tax until end of February
· Lovely colour
· Very cheap running costs and insurance
Bad Points:
· Passenger rear door dented but functional
· Rear bumper has two minor cracks
· Passenger door mirror casing cracked
· Drivers door handle does not return fully – still functional
· LED mileage display in instrument cluster does not light up but can still be seen
· Passenger side rear seat does not latch upright
In detail:
It has done 81354 miles, most of which have been in my ownership. It has never broken down on me and has always started first time. The engine pulls well and feels strong with no smoke, nor does it use any oil.
In 2010, I had a new windscreen fitted by Autoglass due to a chip turning into a crack.
The car was also fitted with a brand new sump in July 2010 as the old sump was damaged while driving from a friend’s party who lives down a small, rutted farm track. This was done by a Vauxhall dealership, costing roughly £400.
In January 2011, the Corsa was fitted with a new battery.
The interior of the car is in good, clean condition. I have always had covers on the seats and the steering wheel.
The Corsa does have a few bad points. Unfortunately someone drove into the side of it last year whilst it was parked in a supermarket car park. They drove off without leaving a note and CCTV gave nothing away so the dent that they left was never completely fixed. I have pulled it out as best I can but it is still noticeable. This mainly affects the rear passenger door, but it is simply aesthetic, the door still functions as it should.
The driver’s door handle is also broken. It does not return to it’s flushed position on it’s own. The handle is still fully functional.
There are two small cracks in the rear bumper, barely noticeable unless you’re looking for it – see pictures. This occurred when a van nudged me on a roundabout – again, he drove off. I don’t have much luck!
The passenger door mirror, I believe to have been replaced or repainted at some stage before my ownership as the paint is faded. We have bought the replacement plastic panel but on closer inspection it looks as though the main body of the mirror has been damaged, so I decided not to risk damaging it any further. I was going to replace the mirror but with a new family, never got around to it. Mirrors can be picked up for around £20 on Ebay.
The LED mileage display does not work but you can still see the mileage display in the right light.
The rear passenger seat catch has broken so unfortunately, the passenger side rear seat does not lock back anymore. I believe this was through simple wear and tear as I folded down the rear seats once, went to put them back up and it had broken.
Overall, this is a fantastic little car that has never let me down. It’s economical and cheap on tax and insurance – ideal for a first car (insurance group 2) or a cheap commuter car. It requires a little TLC to make it perfect as has been reflected in the reserve price or is perfectly useable as is.
It has tax until the end of February 2012 and MOT until early April 2012. Last year, the car had an advisory on the MOT for play in the offside track rod end, however there doesn’t feel like any play to me. These are very cheap and easy to replace if you wish to.
The car comes with part service history.
Any questions welcomed, along with viewing by appointment only.
