This is Saturday 30th Sept. 12am-1am in the morning i am trying to leave my fiancee home and driving 10 miles while having spasms in the side of my head. seems to be tooth orientated. Mucho not fun and mucho agony. Return to hospital A&E (they closed my local A&E and have to drive mucho miles in pain, even after having taken painkillers in the car. am told after long wait at A&E the dental emergency is open currently and there is a VERY long wait to get the doctor just for some painkillers.
Leave, race back home, empty a few tablets into me, no doubt a *slight* o/d. sleep for a couple of hours, get into work Sat morn to sign in deliveries then ring the boss, tell him I'm off and go to A&E, get tooth temporarily filled.
All this whilst using my only pair of glasses (old skool rocks, no contacts here
) that snapped on friday morning...
Day is miserable, pishing with rain.
Finally after a couple of weeks arrange to pick up big lairy Rover. drive to other side of country with fiancee and mum. car is loverly, tow to end of road to keep vendor happy then jump start to drive home (no tax). mum immediately takes wrong turn in rover and stalls it. reverse my favorit down the road to jump start and the radiator blows up. *MAJORLY*
battery in rover will not turn it now. deliberate for a while, pishing with rain, now dark, wimmens start crying
So, being manly and decisive, I take the favorit battery out in the dark (man I'm good - retainer and tight contacts to deal with!) and place in rover. starts first time, move it of the main road we are now on with the fav with no hazard lights as no battery.
ever so luckily, ONE car stops out of dozens and tows us round the road to their house, and i follow in rover bus. warm us and make tea, don't you just love friendly strangers like that!
so, with strong favorit battery, rover is going so we then attempt to drive the 60 odd miles home in the pishing rain. get to petrol station and stop. car wont start but another friendly soul helps push start her. motor on down a dual carriageway and i notice the lights are dim, but hey-ho. my electric window wont go up. the dash lights disappear. its like driving on sidelights with the full beams on... Oh S I-I 1 TEA the alternator isnt working and all the electrics are running straight off the battery! Hold on - a good carb motor would keep pumping... what is this engine?? a nice big injected 2.0 *sigh* battery dies on roundabout, with no lights or power i manage to kangaroo it off the roundabout and to the verge.
we push it up and then another kind soul helps us move it in properly, uphill, in PISHING RAIN!
call around, fiancee's mother is only available help at this hour, now about 11.30 at night. so, not that i mind terribly being rescued by the girls mother when her parents already think I'm a royal tosser
she arrives later, and neither my towing bar or theirs will fit her car s it doesnt have a towing eye???! so, she goes to a 24hr, gets a towrope, we agree with the station to leave the car there until today, and tow it through a town centre and lots of roundabouts with no lights and a short rope and damn heavy non servo'd brakes on a 2ton car, sore calf muscles...!
all piled into her car and went home. along motorway a slight problem with her wiper deciding to stop working needed rectifying (in the pishing rain) and it seems the linkage had broken, so single wiper action the rest of the way home. her electric windows didnt work either (making me happier her car is shat too
) so i got soaked sitting next to one slightly down.
Home for 1.30-2am sunday morning and two cars other side of country, both without tax and both needing lifted today. who works sundays? yeah right.
so right now, while i should be in church, i'm typing this after having charged 3 batterys to get the rover home, hopefully no wipers, lights needed during afternoon, and having taken the radiator out of my fav estate (so another decommissioned car currently) to fit into the other on the roadside. my mums fav has decided the rad fan switch is broken and her car will overheat on long journeys![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)
currently waiting on fiancees mother and my mother to arrive here, and we will all pile in and i will be out a fortune giving everyone petrol monies. and have two shafted motors even when we do get them home.
not to worry, i may only be 21 but i've gone through more than anyone might ever know, i can deal. its the shrieking comrades that do the damage
