First off, a couple of apologies; firstly sorry this thread is all wordy ill update is with some pictures as soon as they are all downloaded and amassed! Secondly sorry i havent been round much, real life is spoiling all my fun, this having a full time job stuff will never catch on! Anyway, if your sitting comfortably ill begin! I had been planning to go to Japfest2 for a while as the KP30'S tax runs out and ill be taking of the road as of now for further mods. So brousing the web last night some track time came up forsale (with a display pass!) on Driftworks which i promptly snaffled up! My car was the only really really thing there bar a few 260Z's and a rather tasty s800. I was overwhelmed at the ammount of attention it got from the public and the media which is always nice! Then there was the track time, id driven donnington before but that was in a 998 Mini and the starlet was a shed load more fun! It had rained, started drying and then some one had dropped oil on every corner on the racing line which made for an exciting few laps! The first lap i had a big sideways 4th gear on the lock stops, then later on i chased down a Colt, passed him then had a spin 2 corners later but managed to keep it going! I really enjoyed the show, there was a fair bit of Barry on display but there is some really nice JDM stuff out there. More than anything once again the people were brilliant in particular Bryn who i met for the first time! The guy is a total 1000% ledgend Then i went straight to the Retro-Rides Midlands meet and met Ade, Chasr and Jammzr which was brilliant! Thanks for turning up guys it was great to see you all and i hope we can get this meet growing! Well the Starlet is off the road now for a winter of modification, I'm 99% sure I'm going the 4AGE route but need to do a bit of weighing, measuring and accounting! Ill update this thread with pics as soon as i can, but until then heres is a pic of me playing on private land with the owners permission ;D

Racer86, I know you seem to have an uncanny knack of getting stuff done in record time, but if (when) you start the 4A-GE transplant, if you need any pointers like what parts I used feel free to contact me, or if you want I could take pics for you. I managed to do it single handed, and most things take me an age to complete. I only needed to have a couple of parts made that I couldn't do myself for the actual engine/gearbox transplant.
The 4A-GE seems lighter than the 4K I had fitted before, as my front suspension sits higher than before the swap. If using a T50 gearbox, the tunnel will probably need modded slightly to allow clearance, but everything does fit (just).
Aaron.

I have a T40 Box at the mo, but it does seem a little backward going from a 5 to a 4! I have your Website book marked and i have been studying it a length! Thanks again!

Was a fair to middling day wandering around a mass of Skylines and the like, then BAM, what do you know? Tucked in between them all is this fricking cool KP... AND it's the Racer86 mobile. Made my day, it really did, great to meet you too Rob. Was funny listening to peoples comments as they checked it out. For a specialist market show, you'd be amazed how many just plain didn't get it/know what it was. Glad to see you had a great day out, karma is a funny thing. Do good things (build good cars) and good things will happen to you. ;D

Cool!! Sometimes cars, and working on them can be a complete pain in the ar*e - but all those grazed knuckles & curse-worthy moments become insignificant when you have days like the one you've just had, having fun with your car doing what you had built it for, then through your car meeting some great folk & making new friends Loving the picture above - takes a bit of 'Balls' to hang the rear end out of your car whilst driving with one arm! ;D P.S; Just noticed the front chin (MK1 GTi Golf?) spoiler, think it balances out the cars shape without being too obvious - probably helps abit too with the straight line stability at speed?

P.S; Just noticed the front chin (MK1 GTi Golf?) spoiler, think it balances out the cars shape without being too obvious - probably helps abit too with the straight line stability at speed? Yep MK1 GTi FTW! and it does help especially over 70 mph is used to get a bit vague but its much better now, but most importantly it looks the Shizzle! Unfortunatly my camera has given up life and lost my pics, but I'm chasing a couple of people i met for some and hoping to get some more and a vid! Heres a link to the guys site who sells the pics 2300 odd to wade through but this link is to my session pics over a couple of pages. Some really good ones, enjoy the spinning action! www.japfest2doningtonpark.fotopic.net/c1074569_1777.html

You = rock. Old skool KP's representing at the track, too cool IMO. Especially in sideways motion Did she have enough power to keep the back end stepped out? I've found that with my tall diff ratio, the ol' 4K-U just can't keep the wheels going to maintain a nice slide, unless of course it's wet as hell.

You absolute legend! In nearly every pic you appear to have a huge grin too... None of this poker race face nonsense. I might just buy one myself.
