For sale is my 1997 Honda Prelude VTi 2.2 VTEC Manual Gearbox in black. I've owned the car for just over 3 years and at over 14 years old still runs like a dream. MOT: September 2012 Tax: June 2012 Mileage: 148000 Loads of history, old MOTs, receipts etc. Electric windows, sunroof, mirrors. Cruise control. 4-Wheel streering works perfect. Car is also fitted with the factory Motegi bodykit. As is so common with these cars there is some bits of rust staring to show around the rear wheel arches. I have provided some pictures to show this. This is purely cometic and wouldn't ever be a concern for an MOT. Off the top of my head, within the last year the car has had, new battery new starter motor new distributor couple of tyres new front discs and pads new rear ball joints also cambelt was done at 115700 miles. clutch is good. gearbox good, except from a little crunchy going into 5th at high revs, which is common with preludes. Engine pulls really well. Will need a couple of front tyres at some point within the next year but perfectly legal now. Rears are practically new. Air con doesn't blow that cold. I suspect it just needs re-gassing as it worked perfectly well earlier on this year but I went away for quite a few months and it was left standing. Not that it ever gets used in this country anyway. passenger electric window switch doesn't work. passenger window mechanism itself works perfectly fine as it operates from the driver side controls. Pence to replace if it bothered you. I'm more than happy negotiate in person but please don't waste time emailing silly offers when you're not serious about buying the car. A little research will show this is very well priced already. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

Cheers mate. Interestingly i've had a lot more interest for the motegi kit which seem to be fetching a fair bit these day. I still don't think there are many, if any, cars that tick as many boxes as the prelude for the money. Although i guess you would expect me to say that. If only they were rwd then i don't think i'd ever sell it! Your civic looks nice mate and for that money i wouldn't have thought you would have had any trouble shifting it, as the EK4s have always commanded big money. I guess its the time of the year problem again. I've got mine on prelude uk and ludeB, are there any others you think are worth listing it on?

Erm sounds silly but the crx and civic forums you never know bud, and yea you don't see many preludes they are nice cars and the engines are unreal with bag loads of potential, but yeah that time of year etc, I have hopes for the civic there are no end of Honda drivers around where I am, ill ask about for you see if anyone could be interested

Thanks radfax. Its listed up on a few of the prelude forums, although hadn't thought about listing on the other non-prelude, honda forums.

its looking very likely i'll be taking delivery of an mx5 tomorrow and if that happens i'll be open to cheeky offers on this. The Motegi kits alone are worth £250+ all day and really makes them look the part but if someone wants it without this on, i'm happy to take it off and knock another 250 off the price.

picked up a cheap mx5 this morning so this needs to go asap as I only have 1 parking permit. Will take 800 ONO. Chance for someone to pick up a bargain.

Very surprised this has not gone! You are getting so much car for your money.
Are you registered on PreludeUK? Worth £800 all day long!

its on prelude uk but that forum seems to be pretty dead these days so i doubt its getting much exposure. Clearly people don't seem to share our enthusiasm for these cars on retro rides! If it hadn't been for finding the mx5 for a silly cheap price yesterday I would have just left it up for 1k and someone would have given me that for it eventually, as most feedback i'm getting from the forums seem to suggest it was more than a fair price at that. The impending fines i'm about to get for having 1 parking permit for 2 cars has forced my hand somewhat.

£500 to anyone who wants it without the motegi kit. Will get some photos of it without the kit on if anyone is genuinely interested.

Hello l1ncs, look like a great deal and a great car.Always wanted a prelude,
If I could sell my Fiat project (or scrap it), or Volvo 850 daily I'd be all over this. Engine lights just popped up on the Volvo so need to get that checked before I could sell it, otherwise I'll have far to many cars on the driveway...
Are there any known mechanical issues, other than the gearbox selector fork problem affecting 4->5 changes? Any noise form the rear wheel bearings?
Is the Motegi kit just the front, rear and side skirts?
Also, what area of Leeds are you in?
Thanks, Duncan

Hi Duncan, There are no known faults mechanically and I definitely don't recall any noises coming from the rear wheels. She's a little untidy on the outside in parts but the car drives fine. Front tyres were the only advisory when it was last MOT'd. The motegi kit is as you say, side skirts and front/rear lips. Car is located in Far Headingley LS16.
