right p*ssed off now!!
The mighty benz failed its mot the other week. Only needs an exhaust bracket and a balljoint.
The other week i call mercedes (cos i couldnt get the parts anywhere else) and tell em what i need. Give em the chassis number, and even email pics of what parts i want.
I decide today that id better get them on and get the car back on the road.
Whip off the old knackered exhast bracket, - and its longer than the one they've supplied me. Funnily enough the part numbers don't match either.
So i come to do the tie rod (it was cheaper to get a tie rod with both balljoints than just a balljoint) and the nuts they have supplied for the balljoints don't fit.
So i call them up - the exhaust bracket they gave me was a tenner. The one i need is about 1-2 inches longer. I'm told its £30!!! Told him where to stick it and i'll weld a little section into the one ive got and make it work.
I also ask for the top part of the brakcet as mine wasnt as good as id hoped. Its only a piece of threaded rod - £20. Told em to stick that too.
At which point i told em to stick the nuts with the rest of their parts cos i cant be arsed to drive across town for 2 bleeding nuts.
tossers.
ahhh, thats better.
On the bright side the electrics in the barn get done tomorrow am so i will at least have workshop use to fab up the small bits i need to make the bracket work.
