A mate came over today to pick up an old car heater I'd striped for him and to go have a look at a '32 axle I had squirreled away in my mums shed (a legacy of that T-bucket I had). Anyway, thought you might like to see some pics of his car. I like this pic 'cos if it wasn't for the double glazing the newest thing visible would be the camper! Quick change rear end. He's got one set of gears that can give him either 4.11 or 3.5 overall ratio. One tail/stop light and no indicators (totaly legal) Winfield head, Burns inlet, magneto, new stainless header. Oh and by the way he's 20 or there abouts and it's his only car His first was a steel A coupe but he's now got this genuine 75 odd year old roadster to tool around in. He built the engine himself and ran a 16.9 quarter at the Hot Rod Drags last weekend Short term plan is to chop the screen and build a hood before winter sets in and swap back to wire wheels.

That's just awesome I take it that's still unregistered here? It'll be a shame to have to put fenders on it!

Total RESTECP!
Where would one look to buy something like that? I'm tempted to sell the Bug and get something like that as a daily hack.

Thats just perfect. Proper old school rod. IIRC those 4 bangers are about 2.5 litres?
16s for one of those is pretty quick.
Just bloody lovely.

Yep, RESTECP! I only got a 16 out of my bug and that was stripped right down! I don't give a curse word about the plate or the open wheels, it rules!

Yep, too cool isn't it! I was reffering to the minimal rear lighting as being legal. Fenders are another matter but I think you are more likely to get away with it for a bit longer in something old looking and tidy. I think the engine's around 3.5 litres. He had a head start in the taste stakes 'cos his dad is the guy that built the pale yellow Standard Vanguard woody and he's just finishing a resto on a Chevy sedan delivery. Make no mistake, this rod has shed loads of Clarke's own work in it though.
