I notice that Uncle Sylvia's thread has been locked. Whether you agree with the rolling tax proposal or not it is relevant to the retro scene and everyone's entitled to their view.
Locking it without explanation is just anther form of censorship! Or am I living in 70's Russia comrades?

It's be done a million times before The rolling tax exemption is ulikely to come back - because DVLA keep such curse word poor records of cars scrapped before introduction of SORN they have no idea how many cars will be impacted. Because they will give it to you in 1 hand and take it away in another. Personally i would rather pay the tax and have the freedom to drive when and where i like than get free tax and restricted use. Is the forum going to get choked up with free road tax posts again?

IF you'd have read the MO, you'd know that RR isn't interested in politics. And this topic has been done to death!

Remember the days when sex was safe and motorsport was dangerous. Vintage bling always attracts pussy.

In that case it should be pointed out by the moderator as the reason as to why he decided to lock it. Personally, I think it comes with the territory... in that if you operate a forum then it's not unreasonable that some people will discuss relevant issues that are maybe not part of your own agenda. Those who have responded to this thread don't agree with me but I rather you tell me...... isn't that what a forum is all about?

Aye, it usually ends in a bad argument. Hence it gets locked. Theres a selection of topics on here which get asked/started a lot and always get locked either due to the ensuing argument or the "done to deathness" of it.
Maybe even worth a sticky with 'em in so new/irregular people know? But then who reads the rules lol?

I'm locking this obviously. As has been mentioned: 1) It's in the modus operandi. We don't do politics. 2) The moderating team don't "owe" anyone any explanation. We usually try to give one, but in the case of petitions like this it has been done dozens of times over and it gets tiresome. 3) To paraphrase HoTWire, this isn't a democracy, it's his board and he's in charge.
