easy one has to be this: 2.5 v6 mondeo..why you might ask, quite simple. you want a car that has a bit of poke obviously for on the run, however you don't want something that sticks out and how much more bland can you get than a ford mondeo. think of it this way you use a bright yellow porsche you're gonna be instantly recognised by witness descriptions. if the witnesses describe the getaway vehicle as a red mondeo....thats going to narrow it down to - oh lets say a few hundred or so in the area. ;D

have to be something very common and plain to blend in, with a stupidly tuned monster engine in it, maybe a black cab

sorry was thinking that but forgot to add it doh!
definitely needs taped up bumpers and a few holes/cracks. I can just imagine the conversation now
witness: it was a red mondeo with cracked and taped bumpers
police: yeh I'm just gonna give up now ;D

But with stock steelies. Though you wouldn't need to go far. IMO you'd want to be driving for no more than 5 minutes before getting into a hiding place and switching vehicle incase the helicopter is in the area. Matt

I know it's not retro but I can't believe nobody has suggested this... lupo tdi sport in a bland colour like silver Great suggestion, shame about the limited space for loot.

Surely there'd be nothing more suspicious than a police vehicle driving away from the location of a bank robbery?

I'd go with one of the previous posts - Reliant Robin
Narrow enough to fit down the centre of 2 lanes of traffic and IIRC police can't user a stinger on them because it upsets the balance and can cause them to flip ? ...

Just think smokey and the bandit... He never gets caught!! Yeah but his crime was speeding not really a bank job lol ok I think I'll do it decade by decade ;D 60's/70's Well it's got to blend in with the everyday humdrum of cars and be faster than or nimbler than the police traffic cars of the day...... Cortina mk2 estate.....in Savage form ;D or one of these in V8 form 80's Well assuming the Rozzers are wafting around in Rover SD1 V8 Vitesse's something a little blander, turbo powered with 4 wheel drive grip Audi 200 Quattro turbo 90's In a homage to Jason Stathams 7 series in The Transporter well have either this: Alpina B10 dressed up to look like a 518 (lighter than a 7 series) or as was actually used in a genuine bank job in the 90's one of these running hubcaps and despoilered etc....Audi RS2 00's I'd use a tuned version of my own car maybe, looks like every minicab around lol putting out 400bhp with uprated brakes, beaded seat covers, steelies, 3 hubcaps, aerials and non working indicators ;D huge boot for loot though

I was gonna say black cab, but since it's been suggested: I'm sure I don't need to explain this van to you lot, besides the jag xj220 wheels do give it away a bit. Maybe glue some sidewalls and hubcaps on to them.
