......or a badly excecuted fat overweight and slow galic crunching copy of an Elise. But but but!! its got no windscreen,.. and Elise's are driven by the Computer Consultants and Systems Analysts who can't afford a real super car and are too scared to drive a TVR ....... Oi! I never use computers Spiders are driven by suntanned fools who stand suspiciously close to the porcelain in public toilets* *probebly

I just think more fun can be had for 16k

Actually this is a pointless debate as the natural Lotus competition to the spider is the 340R Added lightness and more power.........beat that frenchy

I love the fact that a member of RR can be so obviously berated for their choice of motor car, and their response is simply that they 'avoid London'. I love the spirit of this place, good work Minestrone I'm torn between the Elise and the Spider though, I've only driven the Elise, which was great, a modified one was even better. But the obscurity of the Spider sucks me in, hats off to Renault for consistently turning out inspirational models, regardless of weight, handling, power or whatever. When you look at Ford who had the working mans performance market eating out the palm of their hand and blew it all, they could learn a thing or two from people like Renault. Where's our 4x4 Focus with 350bhp? Wanders off topic...

I'm with HTW - I'd rather have a Spyder (sans screen) than an Elise. Then see if you can get the 3.0 V6 in there...Supercharged... *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

At the end of the day if someone stuffed 8-9k in my hands and made me buy a Renault or a Lotus,.. I'd come back with a R5 Turbo2 or a Europa Special

Where do these fit in then? Better looking than an Elise IMO. It'd have to be an Opel-badged one though, Mr Rhys-Jones prancing around in a ginger wig and Y-fronts was a shockingly misjudged way to advertise the VX version. Why do Vauxhall always, ALWAYS get their image/advertising SO wrong? Just kill them and let us buy Opels, PLEASE! Sorry for the tangential rant ;D
