You guys are thinking too much. I've done this job a few times just always had the proper tool for bending the pipes. Remove entire mechanical side of ABS system, re-pipe from master cylinder (2 unions) with T pieces in each line to split for each wheel. Ajustable bias valve in the rear line, tell insurance. Done. Hear Hear! Plus make sure you have somewhere safe (preferably off public road) to set the bias valve up, it can get hairy if you jump on the brakes, it is not quite right and you start going sideways... You could fix the ABS that is already there, the idea of it is to reduce wheel slip to improve control while braking hard. If you just don't like the feel of ABS it is your car and as long as you're careful and follow the points above it is up to you!

I'll probably just take it to the local industrial estate late at night to set it up - start with it on full and wind it off till the rears start to lock then wind it on again.

Matt If you can find a friendly MOT tester who will let you use the brake rollers during a slack time for a few quid then that might be an easier way to set up. Paul H

Paul H Won't help - there's no weight transfer when it's on the rollers - as there's no momentum in the body - so you'll end up with too much rear braking.
