That's not how you do an interior! I may use that to discourage the people who say I should trim my dashboard in carbon fibre (I still haven't got round to putting the aluminium face on the dashboard to replace the broken wood veneer, it'll be a bit more of a job than the door trim and chequerplate for the footwells since the dash panel alloy will be going in to replace the entire face area, including glovebox, which is broke too, and I'll have to be accurate cutting holes for the guages and switches. (It's a later Imp, with the round dial dashboard, instead of the earlier strip speedo etc, and cause it's a 'Super' Imp version it has a wood veneer dash, as opposed to plain black.))

Best of luck to you ...much rather you than me I'm afraid. Oh thanks, I'll be sure to put up pictures of my mostrosity when it's done. My priorities just now are bodywork repairs and getting the car running like it should (ie at all! ;D) Now if weight saving's such a priority on that Polo that it needs carbon fibre, why does he have a leather interior, a DVD player and screen on the dashboard, and no doubt a gigantic stereo too, so that he fits in to the Max Power crowd, which is also probably the only reason for the carbon fibre, rather than weight reduction, which is the logical use for carbon fibre parts. Wasted potential I'd say, a well set up Polo could be a good little motor.

regarding the carbon fibre dash and the misisng steering wheel. The steering wheel was placed on his passenger seat and is just one of the Snap off wheels, the driver was about 6ft. The reason behind the carbon fibre is that 'it hadn't been done on a Polo before' he said he thought about leather and paint and all the normal things, but to be different he had a complete dash made. That particular car is featured in The Golf magazine and you can see it here www.pitstopdevelopments.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=831 if your interested that is Poncho which red G40? there was a few
