I bought this roughly 4 weeks ago and basically its not what i want tbh so its up for sale for anyone that wants something that can cruise the motorway stress free whith good mpg capability this may well be a worthy beast.
Tis a 1999 250td which is the 5cylinder 20valve om605 engine turbo is working well and only the usual boost smoke ive noted.
idles smoothly and pulls flawlessly
Timing chain silent and looks in good condition through rocker cover no crank rumble or piston slap noted ,gets up the temp quickly and stays around the 78degree mark on the gauge.
Mechanical fuel pump with electronic control ie fly by wire throttle,,all working great there but as for veg oil i don't know if its any good with it.
5 speed auto gearbox had a fault due to the fly by wire gear change multiplug on the gearbox being flooded with atf ,this has been replaced along with the filter and new atf and the code which was inactive being cleared from the ecu and it shifts nice and smoothly and has been faultless for 300miles thus far
Exhaust needs hung properly as the center mount is broken so it knocks a little now and again but is in good condition
underbody trays are rough underneath
body is tidy ish but has been resprayed in various places and its bubbling up behind the front indicators typically of most w124-201/w202 era mercedes
The interiors in great condition no wear to the drivers seat which i suspect may have been the only one untill i got it was used regularly
steering pulls a smidge to the left but tbh that may well be road camber as it pulls to the right when off camber no wierd tyre wear noted
Diff is silent and no suspension knocks just maybe drop links on the front at a push but i think thats me just being picky
tyres are all legal and in good order apart from the spare which is badly worn
It has been fitted with lowering springs which at a guess lower it by the usual 60mm
everything electrically works,,abs, asr traction controll,centrall locking and boot opening,rear headrest fold down,A/C all work fine ,i couldnt get the mirrors to adjust though so that may well be a fuse or switch or indeed a mirror servo fault
no radio fitted now
jacking point on the front O/S is crusty and deformed abit on jack up but held the car regardless but i cant be fussed removing the side skirts to look into it so bare in mind abit of localised welding may be needed sometime
brake discs and pads are very recent so it stops fantastically ,only complaint is possibly they have been fitted without cleaning the hub and there is a very slight disc wobble under fast braking
xenon dipped beam and main beams work and all bulbs in general are working
V5C and MOT i have
radio pictured isnt fitted now,,none comes with it and also had an old car phone setup which needs pulled out
boot doesnt leak in but i think the stain may well be past oil leakage from something
also tow bar fitted but no ball fitted
