If the engine will actually fit getting it sat in the engine bay is normally the easy bit, some new mounts and a gearbox crossmember. The time consuming part is connecting everything and sorting out the ancilleries, such as a bigger radiator, wiring, plumbing, throttle, clutch, propshaft etc etc Then the exhaust is normally the biggest pain unless you are lucky and there is a manifold / system available off the shelf. We once did a Fiat into Minor, drive in drive out in 3 days. John yeah i remember doing a weekend swap when i drove my std chuvit in to the shed, pulled th motor and fitted a 2l pinto and box. i had the orig motor on the floor. and pinto in and starting on the key in 5 hours!! and i had to drive to a couple of friends for bits i forgot to get and fit the head clutch flywheel gearbox, head new cambelt, manifolds fuel pump etc etc.... the next few hours and on the sunday was spent doing the wiring tidy. fuel lines. plumbing the rad and mounting it etc clutch an throttle cables etc... by far the most tim consuming are the small bits. anyway the exhaust manifold and downpipe was by far the most (and only) difficult!! i did get to work late on the monday but i did make it... just!! the little bits and peices are by far the most time consuming in my experience.... si

One swap I forgot too mention was a Mopar small block V8 into a Chysler Sigma,it BOLTS IN!!!.Chysler USA was building pickups in the early 80's which were basically Mitsubishis,using a Chrysler 904 trans,this meant that a V8 with a torque flite would fit on the same mounts,which it does.I have seen quite a few of the mitsubishi scorpians here with 360's etc bolted in,a few madna station wagons also have had the treatment.Only hold up is finding a rust free car.... Then there are these guys,Castle maine Rod shop who make adaptors for all sorts of swaps : ".....
