I'm progressing steadily with the GTI. Fitted a new heater motor yesterday and a couple of other smaller jobs. The headlining in the rear is sagging badly and after a little research I decided to try Evostik Impact contact adhesive spray. I sprayed it onto the back of the lining and also onto the base, left it a while and smoothed it all on. Once I'd finished, it looked excellent. Anyway, jumps into the car this morning and.....it's sagged again.
Can anyone recommend something which will do the trick? It's 2012, surely there's something out there which will do the trick.
I'm trying to save some money so I can spend it on other bits which is why I haven't just gone out and bought a new headlining.

Should have worked, all I can think of, is maybe it is too cold at the moment for the glue to get an initial grab, either that or you didn't leave it long enough before putting the two surfaces together.

I left it long enough but it was nippy yesterday. Would warming it over with a heat gun help? Obviously not cook it but just get it warm? There was a fair bit of loose ancient foam so will give it a good scrub to clean any loose cack off too. I've been told this is the stuff to use so I was disappointed. Will definately have another crack during the week!

Yeah that stuff normally sticks like poo to a duvet. Probably the cold, or an unclean surface. If you were spraying it onto foam it might have not been enough cos it was soaking into the foam?

It's like moulded hardboard with a very thin layer of foam. When the liner decided to sag off, it left this layer of powdery foam. I'm going to spend a bit of time on it to get it right. Will be using an old nail brush and scrub it before gluing.
