Morning all! I've got a problem with my 2001 fiesta. It's got the old non-zetec engine so I thought this would be the best place to ask! Basically, it's had a high idle recently, around 2k revs, and today the yellow engine light came on. Electrical fault? Anyway, surely this is something like idle control, idle air valve? Can anyone help me out pleaso? Thanks

My ex-wife had a Ka which I believe is the same engine? They were quite notorious for the idle control valve failing. We had a conversion to an aftermarket adjustable one done as it was cheaper than the Ford part and you could "tweak" it should you need to.

You could try cleaning the multiplug on the throttle position sensor too, as this is another possible cause. Worked on my mates Fiesta.

Thanks, I'll try cleaning it out first... then hunt for parts.. So far I've heard ; check for air leaks, check Throttle Position Sensor... Thanks Thanks
