Alright lads,
Need some pointers on how to properly adjust my handbrake on my motor.
Its slack all the way upto the top then it locks on.
Does the cable or the actual handbrake need adjusting?

What sort of handbrake mechanism, on what sort of car?
As general advice though, with drum brakes clean and adjust the shoes with the handbrake cable slackened (pay articular attention to any levers that the handbrake works on) then tighten the cable to remove excess travel in the lever.
Disk brakes, just check that the lever on the rear of the caliper isn't sticking, then adjust the cable.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Its a twin cable mechanism on disc brakes mate.
I thought it might have been the brake end adjustment that needed doing?
Heard a good way of doing it rather than leaving the handbrake off and tightening and untightening the screw, put the handbrake on 2nd click and just tighten it, then release the handbrake and it should be adjusted bang on?

OK, well, as per above - check that the levers on the calipers actually move and then take up the slack with the cable adjuster. I wouldn't be messing about trying to adjust with the brake part on, sounds like more trouble than it's worth to me
