For sale I have my 2000 Mk4 20v turbo golf, I apologise for the essay but I like to give an honest description of the car to save confusion and hassle ….only reason for sale is I’m either after another Mk2 golf or something else either diesel or with a smaller engine.
Basics:
• Tax: April 2012
• Mot: March 2012
• Mileage: 155000 (will rise as using daily)
• Service History: Full
• V5: Present and in my name
Exterior:
The exterior is good but not perfect with the paintwork having some minor blemishes/scratches, the worst being a small scrape on the passenger side which has been touched in. I feel it would benefit from a proper machine polish but due to weather etc I haven’t had a chance to do this. The wheels are all great condition with pretty much no curbing; the tyres all have plenty of tread with the front two being new.
Interior:
Very nice place to be with the full recaro seats (no rips to the bolster), it’s clean and everything is there and works has the usual mk4 wear to the door pulls on the plasticity rubber material etc. Ice cold aircon, currently has an Alpine stereo with full IPod hook up and control fitted which can be included in a deal for the right price but unless agreed otherwise it will come with the original tape deck reinstalled. Full set of fitted matt’s.
Engine:
The engine runs perfectly and hasn’t missed a beat in the time I’ve owned the car; it comes with full stamped service history apart from the last oil and filter change which was carried out by me at home using genuine VW parts. In my ownership I have replaced the temp sender and thermostat and a gearbox mount.
Bad points/negatives:
• Rear wiper isn’t working ad hasn’t since I’ve owned the car common problem on the mk4 golf and is easy and cheap enough to change the motor.
• Occasional Knock front the front nearside front suspension. I was planning to fit a set of Coilovers and was going to address this problem then but due to now putting up for sale I haven’t.
• Engine covers are currently not on due to have a broken clip and were rattling so I removed them, come with the car.
Price:
£1450 as a rough guide and to comply with forum rules but ideally after a swap for something diesel or with a smaller engine or anything interesting actually try me! Unfortunately I can’t offer any money on top of a deal but will take a cheaper PX with cash my way.
