I still officially hate 2K clear. The look we have now is kinda like "old car, been around the world a couple of times, but somehow still shiny and not rotten" I'm not telling myself I didn't want a mirror finish perfect job on it anyway. At least I won't be scared to park it at work or whatever. Looks better in the pics than it does IRL. The roof is the worst but I can reclear the part which has gone a bit matt. Boot is done and is a bit iffy, bonnet still to do. Lots of minor defects but looks good from 3-4 feet away. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3072.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3073.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3074.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3076.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3079.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3083.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3081_crop.jpg) Now to put the rest of it together...

Looks alright to me! From your other post I thought it had come out like that Ebay Rover 200!
Get it boshed back together and get out doing a few miles in it!

Like I say, its a good 3-4 footer. There are lots of sanding marks in it I tried to bury but haven't succeeded, the coverage is not even as trynig to fix the clear I broke though and have had to patch paint the basecoat (annoying as I'd got the basecoat 99% spot on before clearing) and the bits I did with 1K clear are deeper and glossier than the bits I left in 2K clear...
I also thought the 1K might "fill" where the 2K was pitty, but it doesnt it doesn't self level enough so I have a pitty effect still in a few places.
But it looks like what it is, an old Vauxhall which has seen some action. So thats probably fair enough.

The camera flatters it a bit. Not sure if you can see what I mean from this photo of the roof, but theres kinda matt patches in it. Theres a lot of sanding marks from where I used a fairly coarse abrasive on the concrete-hard 2K clear as well. If you loook just behind the blury refelction of the strip light you'll see a patch. Also the stip light reflection is blury there because theres inconsistancy in the finish. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/alistairk/ventora/DCP_3075.jpg) But in all its come out better than I thought it might.

One thing you have to remember is that flourescent strip lights will show up every timy defect. It'll probably look much better in the daylight

Looks good to me fella..get it boshed back together and on the road. I don't think 2k clear is a problem as when i did the flake on my Datsun, that was done with galons of 2k clear to bury it. i did have to wet flat and mop the whole car but the finish was like glass...deep and very glossy. That was Standox.

I've used Lechler Acrifanlak or whatever its called. I think acri is an abbreviation for acrid not acrylic... Narsty stuff. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Its going back on the road as soon as poss, then when I've sorted the fleet out (and finances!) a bit I can look at doing something with that lazy 3.3 straight 6. Like dumping it. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Alastair, I'm not going to say "wow that's blindingly perfect" 'cos I can see why you're not happy and I'm sure I'd feel the same but it is still going to look like a really nice, well cared for car at the end of the day and I'm sure you'll get plenty of enjoyment smoking around in it ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
