Right then basically i bought a 3.9 EFI v8 for my Sebring MGB project, took a bit of a gamble as it came with very little background but the price was right and included all the loom ecu etc.
When it arrived on a pallet it appeared to be a very good order, no sludge under the rocker covers etc and the plenum has '400' on it - at the time i didn't know what this referred to...
Here's some pics,
All very clean, block was already nicely painted and when i changed the sump, front timing cover etc everything again was nice and clean - appears to have had a rebuild not to long ago??
All ive done so far is spin the oil pump on the drill and it gets oil pressure very quickly but bodywork has now taken over so i've not had chance to get it fired up yet...
Now it wasn't until i spotted a Carlos's TVR Chimaera 400 for sale on here i recognised the '400' on the plenum.
However when i have checked the engine number it comes up as a 3.9 EFI Automatic (36D00001 R.R Disc efi Auto 9.35:1cr ) - which seems correct as i had to change the flywheel at etc for my manual box....i was hoping it would come up as a TVR derived engine but hey ho!
Just wondering is there any advantage to the TVR 400 plenum chamber? just wondering if its been chucked on there for any performance gains?
