Tha magazine cover says 1400+ hp and 20mpg!! How the hell do you get 20mpg with a quad turbo 1400hp v8? My 1600 rocco only manages around 25mpg ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

remember thats an American magazine and their gallons are 20% smaller than ours so 20 MPG in the USA is 24 MPG here....
I read a road test of a brand new Scooby WRX against a brand new Mustang Cobra in an American mag. The 4.6 V8 mustang was more economical than the 2.2 Turbo 4 pot.
With the new generation displacement on demand motors the likes of GM and DCX are turning out big engines really will be marking up with the smaller ones for MPG.
I saw a guy in a magazine with a Firebird, ran low 12s and did 35 MPG (UK)

I know its a different post, but this car is the reason why RWD is better than FWD. Not in everyday terms, but you couldn't build a car like this in FWD. I bet that firebird didn't do 35mpg whilst running 12's.

not at the same time no! But if you get a modern 1.8 family yawnmobile and set the computer to instant MPG you can get it down to single digits if you thrape it from a standing start...

Best I have had from the Buick was 25 MPG. More normally its 15-17 MPG. I had a Chrysler with the 318 (same as your Charger?) and that was 16-18 mpg all day long.
Thing is a carburettor fed engine will seldom be anywhere near as good on fuel as a well set up EFI engine. Aerodynamics and weight also play their part.
