Just after it was running, I slipped with the spanners.... Whoops And whilst waiting on shiny bits, the old 5-piece rivetted and glued roofskin was made into a lighter, welded single piece effort. Much cursing and hammering was heard in the process. Sounded easier than it was, ripples all over the place to start with. Bonnet got finished off and the upper roof-intake got reworked too: Then the roundy-roundy bits went back in: And the uppy-downy bits: And her little red hat back on: And then I used some of my terrible Paint skills to try out a few paintscheme/louver options, this maybe I think:

Just like everything else on the car, we decided to go nice and discrete with the louvers.....and promptly made them massive and lots of 'em.

As you can see, engine is back in and running again, plenty of finishing touches going on, just waiting on some CV joints and it can go for a run, made some new adaptors to the CV's from the transaxle as the old ones were pretty tired, welder solves all: Anyway, TL:DR, it runs, sorted all the leaks and teething issues you get on builds like this, waiting on CV's so it can move - then we'll sort all the leaks and teething issues we get from that, then off to dyno-land for mapping. Then maybe some paint after a few testing sessions.

Could you run it naked?
It looks super mean!

Actually there's one club we could - but given all the hot bits, spinning belts and that it'd have terrible cooling airflow, I think we'll have to stick with the rear bonnet

Mocking up the rear wing, cutting the cardboard rib templates isn't a fun job though!

Now we've evolved into PAD, it's almost structural. *Needs more duct tape.

Having lots of fun hand cutting all these wing ribs, honest (and each rib is made of 4 or 5 separate laminated pieces): Not even 1/4 way through yet :/

So do I and who knows, one day we may actually see it race! That Paint rendition is seriously mean.

You might indeed see it moving again - one day....in a galaxy far, far away...
"Use the Force!" "It's not working Master!" "Then get a bigger hammer and use more Force!"

Maybe, depends what you call cheap Although I guess it's a relatively low downforce and high Reynolds design?

Relates to the size and speed the wing is designed to work at - basically some wings work well at low speeds, poor at high speeds, and vice versa.
Got a few, the old 3x3 rear arms, shafts, brakes, etc, etc, same with the 5 star front aluminium wilwood hubs + disc - plenty of old Bilstein dampers but I think half of them are pretty tired.

Good news, the CV joints are here! Bad news, they're the undercut 'race' ones with undersized CV balls that we don't want, as they're curse word for wear and distort where the bolt heads are undercut. So yes, more waiting....

More wing pictures time - finally got the first skeleton up to full width - need a thin sheath of balsa in certain spots just to give it some shape in order to skin it with either fabric or fibreglass to give it a structural skin, the wooden spars will get replaced with aluminium tube when it arrives, and it needs some carbon + epoxy reinforcements to go in on the trailing edge to stiffen/strengthen it, but at least it's getting closer - just another 3 to go...
