I've recently acquired a pair of stromberg cd125 carbs for my latest mini engine and would like to rebuild them before fitting. Does anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit at reasonable money?
A guy on eBay does a kit for the triumph gt6, how much of this kit woul fit my carbs?

Hello Ministrone (gotta love the name btw!),
I'm wondering what your line of thought is re: fitting these and what you're trying to achieve by fitting them I ask as SU's (not Strombergs) are a very similar design in principle and were always fitted to the A series engine in your mini as standard, whether in single or twin carb format. I'm sure you know this already? There are also a far better range of needles for SU's available too I believe, which will be important when you come to set the thing up.
As an aside, David Vizard did some extensive testing on carb setups and concluded that a pair of twin SU's offered no real performance gains over a larger single SU setup - Of course the latter is easier to keep in tune. Again, as SU's are so similar in principle to Strombergs I believe it's safe to assume this conclusion would carry over.
Apologies if I've not been at all helpful, but thought I'd share my thoughts on this JIC ;-)

I suppose I chose these carbs just to be a bit different. I've been playing with minis now for 20 years on and off and always used SUs. (Exept for one reece fish). My current car is a 1966 Mk1 and the Strombergs were a period mod offered by Alexander engineering called the Alexpress kit. (I love this sort of thing). Vizards book recommmends a 5A needle and blue spring for a similar engine spec to mine and these are available but if I have to vary from that I might be in a world of pain. I agree Su's would make much more sense in terms of parts availablity and ease of set up, and I may yet go that way. I'll ring round a few places first. Thanks for the help guys.
