Is there good and bad gaffer tape?
I ask because I have a roll of black gaffer tape and a few days after it kind of lifts and is a bit naff... so if I'm heading towards ebay looking for some more - what's the best tape out there?
Cheers
Graham

I've found Gorilla Tape to be really good, as well as the usual Duck Tape. What is it that you are fixing?

Fixing a mondeo bumber?
nah, Duck tape has always been my tape of choice, the cheap stuff tends to just lift and leave a horrible sticky residue.

Gaffa tape is designed to only hold for a while then pull off with no stucky left but is generaly stonger if you want it to last use DUCT tape, it's made to last but more to seal rather than hold stuff together Unibond is the best you can get IMHO, if it's called duck tape it's a copy, you get what you pay for generaly less than £4 a roll it's a copy.

Bizarrely enough at the moment I use it most for holding cardboard furniture together. That makes sense really - I'll look out for some expensive stuff Duck or Gorilla or Unibond then...
Cheers!

Have some covering the sharp edges on the NSF arch of my transit. It's been there ages and could well outlast a standard mk5 transit arch, no idea what brand it is though sorry. Ultimately there is always a better way to fix stuff so grab what's available at the time
