	Hey all, Sorry this is a nonretro question but figured you guys would most likely know. I just bought a car and the head unit wasn't working, I changed the fuse in the back of the unit and it fired into life, however no sound from it. Cd auto changer isn't getting power to it either. There is a fuse for "stereo" in the main fuse box which wasn't blown but I changed it anyway. No change to sound here nor auto changer. The car is an 03 boxster and it's the non bose stereo package. Am I being really thick and missing something here or is it a dead head unit? Thanks Barry

	Which HU is in it? Is it the stock Becker? Has the wiring been hacked behind the dash, and was a changer plug present (will only work with a Becker HU if it is the stock changer)?

	if it's been changed - get the standardone back in there. Some funky wiring going on with any upmarket german cars newer than 2001. More than likely, it's one of three options: 1) dead feed somewhere else (check feeds with a multimeter) 2) amplified speakers, where the output from the HU is RCA level, and they need a specific wire fed with 12v to turn on the amp 3) someone's taken the speakers and sold them on
