My roof has several dents, for some unknown reason.
What does everyone use to get rid of them apart from whacking it with a piece of wood and hammer from the underside?
Pops-a-dent looks like tat, king ding is meant to be o.k and then theres the ebay "slide" hammer jobbies.
Has anyone use these before? Or got another technique tool that works?
I've also got an annoying one on the arch lip so wouldnt mind sorting that out while I'm at it.
Cheers

For shallow dents on panels where there is no swage line or crease to hinder you there are proper sunction cups you can use. Simply press on and pull hey presto the dent pops out again. Remember though any dent will to so me degree stretch the metal so a 100per cent invisable removal is not alwys possible. Tool is usualy available from most decentmotor factors.

Ah you're on about like a handheld suction sup with 2 handles on the top arent you mate?
Do they actually work then?
The ones on the roof will definitely pop out I think, no creases etc, like a ball had landed on it that kind of dent.
The smaller ones on the door and arch are little awkward dents that will probabley need a specialist tool on them I reckon

all dents are different.. are you wanting to remove the dents without harming the paint? are there creases around the dents.. can you get to both sides of dents? most likely the metal in some places has stretched so will need shrinking back this can be done hot or cold again it all depends on the dents.. its a complete years and years of experience thing to do properly.
ive had the luck to work and learn from some of the best panel beaters in the country and been doing it for around 8 years id imagine but I'm still learning..
what kind of job do you want doing? a perfect no filler repair? or happy to bump it back out a bit and fill??

I'd prefer a no paint damage removal tbh.
The one on the roof are rounded, no sharp edges just the "regular" type of ding, by looking at them I'd guess they can be removed without causing damage.
The one on the door is a smaller circle like the size of a 5 pence piece so I'm guessing it will need some type of manipulation from behind the panel, I reckon this would need a professional hand tbh.
The one on the rear arch edge has damaged the paint and creased so this might be a filler, respray job?

Whereabouts are you?...I'm currently learning PDR (about 10 months into it)..takes years to perfect...if you're local to me (Essex) and not in a rush (I'm on hols in NZ until end of January ;D) I could come take a look see if I could improve them. Basically most dents have a raised lip outside of the dent where the metal has traveled to..sometimes these can be quite a distance from the actual damage, these lips hold the dent in place and need to be gently knocked down (usual this alone removes alot of the dent), once the majority of the "pressure" has been released from a dent it is alot easier to move the metal back to its original position....... then you move onto stretched areas, peaks, valleys, matching orange peel, whether its original paint.. etc..etc..etc.. it's never ending and all dents are different;D..shallow dents are miles easier than sharp deep stuff. Get some pics up if you can.

I popped one on the side of my caddy van using a hot air gun to get the panel really warm and then rapid cooling with CO2 from a pub bottle.
