---NOW CONFIRMED--- Wednesday 28th Dec, 7pm Brewers Fayre Inchyra Road, Cadger's Brae, Falkirk FK2 0YS OK folks, HotWire has made me think in his thread about the apathy about nominations. I reckon Scotland has a bit of alienation in the RR community. Looking in the events/meetup forum, there is nothing posted so far about any meets in Scotland, and I reckon theres enough of us here to make a meet worthwhile. I'm guessing that most folk may be off during the holiday season, so that could work well for getting as many of us out as no one would have work commitments. The 27th and 28th typically being a bit of a dead zone for most folk with xmas and new year being far enough away. What are the Scottsh members thoughts? We would need to agree on a location (i'm thinking central belt as its most, well, central) that would suit everyone, and a time. Any thoughts on somewhere we can get a heat and a coffee might be good too, as its hardly the warmest season. Also, you want to do a dawn raid then a fry up? Or an evening meet and banter effort? Mods, I know this is in the General forum at the moment, would it be possible to keep it here for a few days to get visibility? Scots may not look in the events section if there has been nothing there so far, but everyone seems to be here daily. Also, I understand a meet under the name of RR may be a bit of a cheek as i'm not a commitee member or such. I'm happy to do any organisation etc to make it legit etc, let me know what the chat is there.... Lastly, can any Scottish members who are able to come or are interested in a regular meet please make themselves known? I'd rather not go all out to get a meet going then be stood there myself. Lets hear from you all!! Oh, and to keep the pics, post a snap of what you intent to bring! Heres mine:

Aye. I've always been jealous of the fry up club and could easily be persuaded out of bed for a feed.
I've only got modern cars just now so don't batter me for breaking the post-'96 (or whenever it is) rule.

i absolutely will not. Its about the members as much as the cars at the moment. As long as we can get the numbers out for the first one!

I used to organise meets for a different forum many years back. We chose Stirling as the best location to try to fairly arrange driving distances. Its easy to get to from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen (where I was based with a few other members). The problem is, anyone who lives on the west coast or north of Aberdeen is left with a massive trek to get there. Scotland is a difficult region to organise as it is a massive area with a very low density of members, so everyone is left with a long drive.

I'm not in Scotland but I hope this works, there's some cracking cars up there. My other half lives in Teeside so it wouldn't be unreasonable for me to drive a few more miles when visiting him so hopefully there'll be a meet of some sort going on next year that I can toddle along to and get some pictures.
You know you're a car nutter when you live in Derbyshire and consider going to Scotland for a car meet 'just because'.

We chose Stirling as the best location to try to fairly arrange driving distances. This echos my only other experience with a Scotland wide car owner's group. There were a couple of places (fast food places, Brewer's Fayre places and the like) on the M9 around Stirling and Grangemouth that worked pretty well. They were easy to find, had decent parking and weren't intimidating for someone driving a long way to arrive at on their own.

Yea Dave, it looks that way. I travel to Aberdeen for work so i know EACTLY how soul destroying that drive is. All i can say is that if any Aberdonians want to come down they would be made more than welcome! Falkirk will probably be the best bet, but there is a big Max Power barry contingent that plague the usual meet there, so not sure i want it to clash with that. Any Falkirk members here?? Volksangyl, i know the feeling. I remember treking from Glasgow to Bedford to pick up 300 quids worth of Nissan with no contingency for what to do if it was a disasterwagon. I hope it does pick up next year, would be good to get a good draw of folk up to experience the best roads in Britain

Good shout overdrive. I hope this goes ahead. Stirling's or Perth is always a good shout I'm across on Hogmany to Embra for 5 days so its out for me but I know there is a lot of cool retros in Scotland so hopefully a good turnout I could have popped up in my dads(RIP) Y plate Rover 45

I'd normally say yes for sure.... just a bit annoying that at the moment I'm working on a huge job right now that's taking up every waking minute 24/7 until early January! Would still be interested in later meets, or possibly a quick pop by if a sooner one was in the Glasgow/Lanarkshire area.

OK, well if this turns out to be a duff affair (i thought with most folk being in holiday it'd be a good shout, it seems the opposite) then could everyone at least interested in a future meet post in this thread and i'll PM folk for one at a later date too?

Give it another few days and keep the thread bumped to the top.
Why not pick a place and a time, even if it's just three or four of us it'll be a start. I'm pals with a silent member on here, he's bound to join us.
