hi guys, i've a mettalic blue car & want to make it look a bit more oldschool, i don't really fancy the idea of shelby stripes as i don't have a shelby cobra & would feel a bit of a dick with them on my 1296cc engined daily i quite like the look of what the escort mk1/2 guys do but its usually a white car with w blue stripe up the side are they the AVO escorts i dunno, i'm no escort officianado or is mettalic blue just not a coulour that can be made wo work well with an oldschool look i've traweled through all my magazines & i cant find an early 80s car with a look i like that looks good in mettalic blue, i'm feeling a bit stuck for inspiration really i like this look but would it work the other way around ie mettalic blue car with white stripe? i'm basicly trying to give my rather plain looking mettalic blue car & bit of a lift in a with some form of 70s/80s stripe or grafic/decal in a noce oldschool look

which reminds me of a Blue Mazda 626 with a Starsky and Hutch inspired strip that used to roam Portadown in the 1970's. Show us your wheels for more inspiration.

Metallic paints have been used since the 1930s. It's retro...
Can I just confirm what car it is?
You could flake or lace the roof, you could add stripes in silver or pearl white? What's the look you are going for?

BOP? sorry... Only acronym I recognise relates to Buick Oldsmobile & Pontiac divisions within GM.
A pic of actual car would help

Olds Firenza or something? There was a Cosworth version of the Chevy Vega which probably came covered in stripes... I don't recall and google is slow on my mobile...

All together now... "Sad old git!"

Ghost lace paint in a flat blue and a pale blue/cream/contrasting coloured roof should do the trick.
What car is this for? A picture may help spawn more ideas in my brain.

I usually hate blue on cars but BMW cirrus blue is an amazing colour, alot like the new Honda blue, almost like silver. Love it.

Esprit, Chevy stepside and an Elan, so much oooffffff!
Didnt the Avenger Tiger have some neat side stripes? The might look good in silver or white on the Allaggro, and suitably retro.

Blimey. People are busting with ideas and I make that 4 times you've been asked what car this is for!! If we knew which car I'm sure a few folk would have a go in Photoshop.
