Decided to sell my Focus as I'm not a Ford man and I'm looking to get back into something French or British and unreliable!
Don't be put off by the miles, it drives like an 80k mile car, not a 167k miler! It passed its MOT back in July with no advisories at 161k, I've covered 6000 trouble free miles since then. The only thing that doesn't work on the car is the drivers side of the heated front screen as there's a stonechip that's broken the element. A new windscreen would only cost your excess (Usually about £60?). The Aircon works although is a little slow to get going.
It has the usual Ford rust, nothing structural though, only on the outer skin of the rear arches, bottom of the tailgate and I think there's a bit on the bottom of one of the doors.
I'm going to service the car before it sells, new oil and filter and 4 new plugs, occasionally it won't start first time but usually goes the second or with a little bit of throttle. I reckon this is down to the spark plugs being old. I don't have any service history with the car but the way I see it, the car has survived 167k miles so it must have been looked after to a certain extent! Last cambelt is unknown so I would advise (for peace of mind) to do this.
