Usually a No. 10 shade is ok for light mig work, but if your eyes are not so sensitive then maybe a No. 9 would do you better.
Some of the higher end auto darkening helmets are also variable shades of darkness

And 1000 times better than any mot spec welding

I suppose some have been wondering what happened to this thread. Well it's still on the boil.... all be it a bit slow. I have got side tracked doing a bit of 2K Cup car racing so all my time and money has been going into this. Very sad to hear about Em. I always enjoyed his humour and will miss his project updates. I hope someone can continue his fine work. I will post some new photos of the MX Tri soon now that I have remembered my log in and how to post pic's.   |

This project is one I will be coming back to often....awesome work man!
the welding is really nice...but the whole creativity and vision is really inspiring. I really like where this is going.
Primer red paint is quite sexy at this stage....and with those wheels it has a great stance.

Glowing Red.....impressive. To hot here at present to get it cranked up yet. That's it, rub it in!! Certainly cold enough here to have a fire going! I'm going to do a mk2 version with a plate welded on top and chimney for my workshop, hopefully the smoke draws ok. |
