Popped over to Knebworth today. Well worth the journey here's a few of my pics. Hotwire I can send you a complete set of piccys (and previous Toyota, Lichfield & JAE shows for the gallery if you like!) This Allegro does 130mph and 10 Mpg.... Cortina 3 seen in the car park Lovely '67 Beetle with EMPI's Chalk and cheese! A roller with a splendid Datsun 120Y Alfa Guiletta with a background almost from the seventies. Firenza. Looks bloody fast too. X pack Fiesta? If not, its a fine likeness. Mini-Jem (I think) Interesting collection of IMP lenses! One of 2 seventies Audi's, this '74 80 GT looked like a competition car. The other was a bigger '75 100 Oldsmobile, now no longer surviving as a marque. V8 powered Corsair Northern Ireland registered NSU Ro80. This one still had its orginal Rotary engine, and it sounded sweeeeet! I want this..... One for Rmad..... Maserati powered Citroen lunacy. There was also 2 Ami's, a DS and two beautiful GS's.

I think it was a rootes Arrow (Humber Sceptre probabily) Estate. I didn't take any snaps of that car.....
Refreshing lack of Ferraris and other exotica too.

I was gonna say Hunter...so even though we agree, it looks like we don't! I can see two HB Vivas in your photos too...one more than there was at Bromley Pageant. Where have all the HBs gone?

Nice! The Mini Jem owner's been creative, not all those lights are Hillman Imp. The brakelights/taillights and indicators are from an earlier Hillman Imp by the look of it (screw ons, the later ones just twist on without screws) but the reverse lights and reflectors aren't Imp lights, Imps didn't have that kind of reverse light (most didn't have any reverse lights, other than as optional extras) and the reflectors were little square things, maybe the lights are actually from a Land Rover of some sort, they're quite similar.

Popped over to Knebworth for a couplke of hours yesterday for a bit of a mooch about. Some top stuff on display!! Will get some piccies up later when I work out what the deal is with the new digicamera (NO INSTRUCTIONS!!). Day was good apart from a few minor whines: 1. Rain!! 2. Dog poo - Some people are soooo inconsiderate - don't they realise this smelly beown stuff has a magnetic attraction to two-year-olds wellies, which then in turn become mystically drawn to nice clean BMW carpets! 3. The mini owning numpties who sat in their gazebo shouting at people who walked too close to their cars: If you don't want people close, don't bother turning up!!!!

Also, you have no idea how tempted I was by lovely Rmad style Cressida, in the same dog poo brown as my old Carina. The missus had to drag me away from it kicking and screaming..... ;D

It was a good show. I went Monday. There was some lovely Datsun 240Zs there. Apart from Datsun Z cars ive never really looked at J stuff but looking at some of the J saloons there has given me an interest in them aswell.

Sorry it took so long!! here's some pics from last Monday! Not sure how you get a split on an S plate? Check out that sky!! Trick paint, big wheels and wide arches technically impressive but do nothing for me... '69 Charger. Daisy Duke hot pants optional. More type 2's... Z-cars More Z-cars and a Skyline (R34?) Jam Sandwich attracted a large number of buffers.... Capri arses and a phat escort (drool...) Apologies for the proliferation of buses / campers - 'Er indoors is a big fan of them....but wouldn't settle for a type 25 (that we could actually afford ) And then the camera packed up, so that's your lot I'm afraid, folks!

Some of those are quite interesting. I'm sure I've seen the police MG and possibly the orange Escort at shows before. The S plate splitty could be re-registered sometime in the 70s and given a new plate, or maybe one of the Brazilian Splits, which were made until late in the 70s (I think but I may be wrong) then replaced by the bay window that had been released in Europe a long time before, and is still in production over there. Like the Mexican Beetle, which sadly is no more.
