	hi. i have recently brought a sunbeam lotus that has been stood for over 20 years in a shed because of crash damage. The last owner has had this in his ownership since 1989 and he brought it of a chap called Phil Richards and ex lotus mechanic apparently, But because of the engine not being started in so long i am getting a new cam belt and tensioner and oil filter before starting! but there are a list of questions i have that i will need help on as i am not a sunbeam lotus expert and any help will be of great appreciation. 1. whats the best engine flush to use if any? i will be cleaning radiator and cleaning all pipelines 2. best oil to use for engine? 3. any other things i should do before starting? Also because of the crash damage i will be needing some panels, i have heard that ex steel pressed panels is the one to get panels but i am just wondering whether there is any other source of panels? 	you will need t clean the fuel tank, fuel lines, pump and carbs out, the old petrol will have turned to gum. Use a cheap oil and after its been run for a couple of hundred miles change it again for a good 20/50 oil

	hi. thanks for the response and I have considered cleaning the fuel lines and tank etc but because i will only be running it to see if the engine is smoke free and runs well i thought it will be easier to clean the carbs and run a fuel line to the pump via a Jerry can. once i now what the engine is like condition wise i will remove the engine and gearbox so that i can begin stripping ready for replacing the panels and welding. thanks for the advise charlie Attachments:
