I have bought some rain x, and rain x anti fog. Where can I go and buy silica gel from, rather then ordering on line, and waiting for it, What with christmas post and all that.
Also in this months Retro Car Magazine, the winter motoring article talks about fitting an extra heater? What do they mean? More vents, an extra "heater exchanger".

If it's for storage/etc, just put a bowl or two of salt in the footwells. Chuck it out every few months to keep it optimal. Old caravanners trick

I've used rice for soaking up the wetness in my footwell. Remember to get it out before it goes mouldy though!

I'd check all of your screen and door rubbers too. Less damp to worry about inside if you are letting less water in.

thanks for suggestions. bought some silica gel moisture traps from wilkinsons. car is garaged over night. but being a 1980's rag top in this weather does mean rain and damp is getting in. not the winow rubbers, more likely the door seals and where the roof meets / joins onto the wind screen / a pillar structure.

Another thing I can recommend (easily forgotten by many despite being obvious) is to check your antifreeze or put some in and run the car up to temperature if you have none!
Good seals do help too.
