Sorry if this has been done before.
But was just getting the xmas tree out of the garage and found a old numberplate of a old mk3 granada estate i once owned while at uni, it was bought for 120 quid from the funniest car dealer i have ever visited, think i also nearly bought a audi 100 2.6 off him as well which blew the headgasket while i took it for a test drive.
Anyway this said granada, 1st day off ownership, abs light came on, no biggie. Maybe after a week of ownership the 2 litre twinks oil filter literally came off, oil light on, damn, new one fitted filled her up and she was alive, not bad i thought, apart from the trail of oil leading out of the brand new built uni halls car park. Few days later it rained and the car just stopped, it stopped raining the car started, did this every time it rained. I have owned many cars but not really had many punctures, this had three in about three months of ownership, only one could be repaired.
Took a new female friend for a drive to a nice country pub, exhaust fell off on the way back. Driving home to my mums one weekend, radio started smoking, and then a little flame appaired out of the cassette hole, luckily i pulled over into a council yard who came to my rescue with a extinguisher only a bit of trim damage and white powder everywhere.
Finally gave in when the rear diff was sooo noisy i literally though it was going to explode any minute, did do about a hundred doughnuts and attempted drifts in it in a gravel car park we sometimes visited.
Took it scrap yard, scrappy closed, left my phone inside after i had posted the log book and keys through his letterbox, had to smash the window to get my phone back.
Probably the worst/funniest car i have ever owned, sorry got no pics was the time when phone cameras were terrible and the resolution was like 60x40
What was yours?

Difficult for me to pick one out at being a worst. None have been terrible - just sometimes aspects I don't like. 02 Primera SVE auto saloon (last type made) stands out a bit due to poor rear visibility even with reversing camera and also 16mpg in town / traffic. XJ40 - never took to it but nothing basically wrong other that I compared it too much to my previous XJ6. 205 diesel, my fathers ex company car that we had at 220,000 miles, l which my wife and I disliked driving yet we ran it up to nearly 300,000 miles. 740 Volvo - not a patch on the 240 it replaced. As I said nothing horrible just not always my ideal car.

I had an R reg Mondeo 1.8 TD LX. I bought it in a huff basically; I'd sold my Honda Accord and still hadn't got the engine back in my Vectra SRi. My dad agreed to lend me some money for a car and then take me round garages, but he's so impatient and soon started whinging. I ended up lumbered with this Mondeo for £650 just to shut him up, what an absolute dog it was. After 6 weeks of running it around with an engine that was nearly dropping out of the bottom and electrics that just didn't work at all I bought an M reg Mondeo 1.8 TD to take the engine out of. Paid £70. This car was a beast, higher spec as well and such a nicer place to be in, I ended up flogging the original Mondeo and using the £70 one instead (which is still on the road and lives with my mate!).

Renualt 5 slush-matic gearbox. Stalled at every set of lights, and lost 2nd gear (it could never decide between screaming it's head off, or grunting along) Also found out, if you try to drive along at about 30 degrees, you lost all drive

its all a bit of fun ;D worst for us was a 1994 passat 1.9td. if it was electric, it went wrong first the speakers but that was no biggie. then the central locking went up in smoke (literally - the unit fried, something to do with a vacuum leak), then the wipers packed up whilst doing 50mph in heavy rain....brown trouser moment ) and finally the taillight units went wrong so basically whenever we braked the hazard lights came on (but static not flashing). oh that was a fun car, trying to guess what was next to go wrong. Not a good way to spend £1500 lol (it was a while ago)

1999 Vectra GSI. Also the most expensive car I've owned as it happens, looked good and made a great noise but the damn thing was always broken, ended up selling it for curse word all after the cambelt went.

This. Hateful thing. It was a diesel so it did 50mpg. But that was about it, every time it rained it would just spin. 60 or 6mph, didn't matter. No amount of counter steering would solve any problems, it didn't even get "snappy". It just began to rock and spin and suddenly you're facing the traffic. Hateful thing, kinda responsible for why I don't like a lot of Fords. Don't ask about the spoiler, it was a factory fit and I have no idea why it was on a diesel.

Lada 1500 in hearing aid beige with dog poo brown interior:
TBH I was always destined to hate driving it as despite being tail-happy the suspension and steering combined to make it feel unbelievably unstable when cornering. In the event the hatred never got a chance to blossom as after I spent ages getting it ready for an MOT, the gearstick to suddenly decide the drive to the test station was the ideal time to throw a major wobbly in the form of the gear lever becoming disconnected from anything inside the box: you could twirl it round and round as many times as you like! What a b!tch!
I weighed it in to get it back ;-)

The first car I brought way back in 1985 was 1976 sdi rover V8 which caught fire on the way home from collecting involving a small rewire job, then got more and more difficult to start eventually needing a new cam and followers, was clipped in a car park resulting in half the rear wing falling off due to excess filler and rust. One of the SU carb floats sunk leading to it pouring fuel onto the road though the overflow. This was a 60K mile car just 9 years old at the time.

Worst, easily a Puegeot 106. And it gets worse.... it was a facelift, a five door, and a diesel! Hateful tinny, fragile little thing with an uncomfortable driving position, a bypassed heater, a driver's door that would randomly completely open when driving and a top speed in the 80s. On the plus side it did silly MPG on veg'. So cheap to run, but I'd happily pay a lot more to avoid the misery! Funnily enough, this is also the newest car I've ever owned.... Runner up is a MK1 Mondeo that left me stranded several hundred miles from home with a seized engine in the days before I had breakdown cover. Next would be an early Mk5 Escort. Very reliable, but horrendously dull, and infinitely worse than the MK4 it replaced in every way. Actual worst seats in the world too.... I can still feel the backache!

This Carlton. Bought in a rush as I needed something to tow my folding caravan at short notice. Exhaust fell apart on way home. Got new section only for another bit to fail.the following day! Interior had been swapped (badly) for a leather one which seemed to have been used for transporting used fag ash and manky engine oil. Radiator packed in the day I was taking my kids away for weekend. Couldnt get correct radiator for an auto so had to be creative and use a manual one. 30 mins into journey the auto box didnt like 3rd gear. 20 mins after that it forgave 3rd but hated 2nd instead. The tow bar sat so high that the jockey wheel didnt go high enough so I had to lift the damn thing on every time! 10 mins into journey home something gave way in one if the rear drums which caused a great deal of clunking at speed. As I slowed down it locked one rear wheel- quite exciting! Rest of journey was on AA van. Stuck on ebay as spares or repair while waiting for AA. And it turned out to have disabled tax! Not my finest hour.

Some might find this odd but this is by far the worst car i have owned, mainly due to not living up to expectations i had for it. Really IMHO a very overrated car.

On the plus side it did silly MPG on veg'. So cheap to run, but I'd happily pay a lot more to avoid the misery! Funnily enough, this is also the newest car I've ever owned.... A mate had one of those and the drivers door whould open when going around any sharpish corner. Slammed it in to a mk3 Mondeo which was coming the other way at about 60mph and survived. I've only owned one car and it was an absolute nightmare. A mate's father, who is surposed to be a curse word hot classic car dealer, had a mk2 Ford Granada for sale. Not my first choice of car, as I quite dislike Fords, but a classic old bus that I could rattle around in, and insurance was only £120 a year which was a bonus. After spending so long hearing about what a legend the bloke is and what had passed through his hands I bought it unseen. If I ever see the bloke again I will stab his eyes out. Passed on a half decent SD1 and two P6s as this was surposed to be absolutly mint, had a load of work done to it and ran perfectly. After years of turning over bikes for profit I ignored everything I've ever said and done in the past and paid the price.

1998 vectra. Could drive for 10 minutes then my back was in agony! Funny you say that 'cos I thought the seat position in my '98 Vectra estate was awful : not enough support for the thighs at the front of the seat (if you're over 6ft tall.) I spaced the front of the runners up with 1" box, job done. Not the best car I ever owned, but a very good daily. I bought it at auction, 5 years old with 35,000 miles for less than £2500, traded it in 2 years later with 69,000 miles for £1250. And it gave me a genuine 40mpg (1.8 engine). Just like a labrador : not the most exciting, but faithful nonetheless.
