I've recently started 2 threads that were locked so in recompense here's a picture dump of images from the last ~35 years...
Herald 13/60 convertible in Valencia blue, my second car, great hair stlye...
Replaced by, an Avenger 1500GLS, (same spotlights though) yes that's me.
1979 Rallysprint at Donnington Park, Triumph TR7 V8
I had 3 Cortinas MKIV/V (company cars), 2 saloons and an estate (below)
Blackbushe drag racing 1984 +/- a year...
My favourite American muscle car...
Paranoia, Jaguar straight 6 power
Ford Escort XR3i company car, with steel wheels as I didn't like the alloys,
Replaced with, Citroen BX GTi 16v, 160BHP and very light, 130mph + (in Germany of course, I took this car to France twice, Frankfurt and Holland twice)
A summer spent in California (Mountain View silicon valley) I think this is what the Americans mean by a family car, swapped it for a Honda Accord. That's my daughter at 2, she's 20 now...
Miata rental car California style, $3/day upgrade from compact, picture taken on Highway 1 (the Pacific Highway) probably near Carmel
Xantia 16v, not as good, well fun, as the BX. Looks good when you drop the suspension though.
then a BMW (328 tourer), great car
Classic track day experience, race tuned (300BHP) Aston Martin DB6. Also did a Ferrari track day at Thruxton, drove a 355..
It was about this time my wife started to buy horses, so we needed a 4x4, Frontera surprisingly good
Frontera good, Discovery better. Bought an E30 325i Sport as a project, never really did anything with it, it was much worse than the pictures show.
Nice pair of E30s, Gaydon BMW meet
We like Fiat's Stilo a very underrated car,
Eventually swapped for an Audi S4 (B5) Avant, brilliant car but ~20mpg
and now I'm driving a Fiat Panda (and a Disco II).
