I'm sizing up, literally, options for my new grille. I have an option that requires no money being spent, but a lot of work so I've been looking for other solutions but need measurements to see what will and won't fit. Since some of the cars I'm looking at exist in the greater RR community, I'm hoping that I can beg some of you to get out there with the tape measure and help me out
So far I've lined up these:
MG B grille. Probably mount it upside down and the badge would be removed, which you can do on these.
Rover P5. Another one I'd mount upside down, it would lend a different, almost wide-mouthed-Audi look to the car I think.
Any other suggestions welcome. This is just one of those things in my brain at the moment, keeping me awake. I'm looking for something with vertical bars, preferably chromed, to fit between the lights on this, a Mk2 Polo. I don't have a picture to hand with the bonnet on, but you can see where the grille will be going.
I have considered an over-rider grille, but I think it would look comically oversized due to how small the car is. I don't think I want to go the drawer knob route either.
My back up plan is to chop up some Herald grille bars I have, but it'll require a lot more fab work than simply bolting a grille in the fits, and might not look as good.
