	Hey guys i'm after advice on paintwork. I've brought an old transit that has been painted silver and that was sign written. The stickers have been removed and its left an outline on the paint itself where the stickers have been, also its taken the laquer up in some places I haven't got the money for a respray as i'm just setting up my new business, is there any advice or pointers anyone can give me for the best and cheapest method to get it looking reasonable? I've wet/dryed one panel with some 1200 grade paper, G3'd and colour restored one panel which looks better but i haven't got a machine mop and you can still see the shadow of the old sign writting Any advice would be gratfully recieved, thanks ;D

	I bet you could get a pretty mega improvement by carrying on doing what you're doing, but you really need a polishing mop. I've got one of these: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILVERLINE-1200W-SANDER-POLISHER-BUFFER-CAR-BOAT-KIT-/200649273348 Only £44 delivered, they're not mega quality but not bad either, mine's had a fair bit of hammer and has never had a hiccup. If you can afford to chuck £50 at the problem I reckon you'll get a pretty good result.

	I have thought that perhaps i need one of these in my life! A mop would definately help you think? Could i touch in the bits where the paint has lifted with a rattle can and just wet/dry & G3 over it cut it in after it has dried?

	I don't see why not. The lacquer might not last for 20 years but i'm sure it will smarten the job up considerably. Get a decent quality can from a paint factor though, not a halfords job as their paint is like 99.9999999% solvent. 	I use 3m fast cut plus at work,from a paint supplier it works out a bit cheaper than g3 and is about 100000000000 times better! ;D,I've also got one of them cheap mops and ive had it for years!,I also would do exactly what you are doing now and I paint for a living!
	Well you will mess with these cars.... Mk4 golf gttdi highline. Mk2 golf 1.8T
