Yeah I've got one had for 16 years. First 2 years of ownership were awesome until some engine dramas got out of hand?!   Will never let it go have dragged it around to 5 different houses now. Larry |

Plans are for it to be a complete sleeper. engine 302 windsor stroked to 347, T5 gearbox from aus turbo falcon , '93 commodore L.S.D disc brake diff , '98 commodore front brakes. Chassis connectors to stiffen it up as much as I will be too. Would do a build thread but has been 12 years now. Brakes inside 15" steel  |

Back in the day Street Machine magazine had sketches of one of these. It looked amazing. Always liked the car since that day.

Amazing looking cars, I was disappointed when I drove a stocker. It was the more basic Alpine version but it was quite wobbly and slow and noisy. Certainly not Capri-like or sporty.
theprong has the right attitude to this.... keep the good and upgrade the rest.

It's the rear three-quarter view that I love most - those side windows with the thick black diagonal strip are just brilliantly odd.
There was one featured in RC a while back, but I forget the spec. Turbo'd, perhaps...? Bit of a sleeper too, IIRC.

I had one for a few years.
In standard form, they're no sports car. They are a nice, well engineered cruiser that seat 4 people comfortably. I'm pretty sure the chassis and floorpan is the same as a Hillman Hunter Estate.
The 1725cc is quite torquey, but pretty coarse at high revs.
The steering is recirculating ball so very smooth but not a lot of feel.
Foot mounted dip switch is quirky but not very practical. Overdrive is always cool though.
Mine had some very period chrome steels which had a bigger offset and reduced the issue that they always look a little too narrow in track.
Let it go for nothing in the end because I couldn't afford the welding to get it through an MOT and was doing a midnight flit

Very nice. Could suit either aircooled vw fastback or seventies Jap styling... Especially in white.
