Apologies, bit of a random post. But... I'm organising our work Xmas party and am trying to source a vehicle for a prize. Basically, every year I run a competition for a few colleagues to win unusual transport from our office to the party venue (W14 > W1F this year; four miles and basically just four roads). Does anyone in/near London have an interesting vehicle that they're happy to chauffeur three or four people on this short journey on the evening of Thursday 15th December? Bit of easy money. (Possibly £200, possibly more, subject to budgetary wrangling.) (The party theme is 'Circus', if there's any way of shoehorning your car into that theme.) I've contacted Elo at the LMM about hiring this... ...but I don't know if they do that kind of thing. But to be honest, I just want something that's more interesting than hiring any old limo or stretched Hummer.

Careful how you 'arrange' this, as strictly speaking any of the owners would need a private hire license...

Well, obviously. I'm not arranging anything dodgy. Unless the price is right.

just so people know. this would be illegal. i work in licensing for local govenment(yay day off) and without the vehicle and driver being licensed then you are breaking the law. we regularly catch people especially around the prom and christmas party season and tbh they always get at least 6points for no insurance and a few hundred quid fine if not more. theres no way around it without licensing them both which is costly and long process.

FFS. I'm not asking anyone to break the law. Perhaps I wasn't being clear enough in the initial post - I'm looking for someone who's licensed and able to do this.

Most people with hire and reward will not have interesting vehicals, that's the trouble and if they do i bet it wont be the vehical on the hire and reward insurance He's just stating a fact, at my boys prom the police pulled a lot of the cars on the way out (AFTER dropping off to save ruining the prom fior the kids) i got off cos i was dropping my son off in my cortina i bet others wernt so lucky, of course a private do is not the same a target as a prom at a large hotel for the "powers that be" personly i recon you need a NON public forum for that sort of chat or a PM Now who do i know with a clown car or a 4 seater elephant ;D

Here you are - www.tanklimo.com/tank_limo_hire.htmas they say you better sit down as prices a bit more than £200 ! To be honest anything "different" is probably going to be more than £200. What about checking out local wedding hire companies to see if they have a proper licenced classic car and driver that would do the job ? paul H

OH MY GOD! That's awesome. Bit out of our price range though... Yeah, I'm looking at wedding hire places and stuff now. I reckon we'll probably end up with a Phantom or something, as I hate limos and Hummers and don't want to choose something too clichéd. I've found a place that has Audi Quattros and mkII Jags for about £250, but not sure how much extra it is to get a chauffeur. This is way more fun than real work.

Bizz, might be worth contacting this guy, only has his Limo's listed on the site but I know he has a couple of more interesting cars available including a beautiful old Hot Rod.

What time "on the evening of Thursday 15th December?" You won't buy more class for £200 than my W123 Merc:
