The bus in the OP is surely a 220cu, not 440cu. Our bedford has the 330cu and wouldn't dream of 25mpg, sounds like it's got the four pot. You need the correct license even if it's a motorhome, in my case I needed to get my Cat C as I passed my car test in 2001. Pre 1960 vehicles can be driven on a car license if unladen and unmodified from what I've read. I want this beast. 4x4, mollycroft roof, woodstove, beds etc:

Vehicle age don't matter. It is what it is and u need the right licence for it. Its like saying u can drive a Ford Anglia on a motorbike licence because it's over XX years old lol

PSV over 30 years old & with less than 8 (IIRC) persons on board you can drive on a car license, 'tho you may need the 7.5t car license, I can't remember off hand. Pre 1960 commercials can definitely be driven on any full car license but I think you need to be 18. The vehicle must be unladen. I'm certain of this because I've had to check that I can legally drive my friend's WW2 tank transporter despite only having a baby license, which I can. I've a feeling this applies to anything pre 1960 with the exception of motorcycles but I've only looked into it regarding heavy commercials.

The first ebay link reminds me of my old bus. Think he's a tad optimistic with the MPG, best I ever got with my 330 diesel and 5 speed was about 18mpg when it was empty. Not to mention cruising at 40 mph you become a mobile chicane on the motorway. At least mine would sit at 60, struggled on hills though.

I'm pretty sure that's true- however, I think that I'm still stuffed 'cos of my 3.5t license, I've a feeling you still need a 7.5t one for something like this. yeh your stuffed.. you need to have had your liscence since before they capped it off below 7.5t i always planned on touring in one, but id miss having car to blip around roads in. also the actual costs of running one of these.. not just fuel/tax/mot but the actual parts and labour is alot more than your average car.

Still, £3,800 is very cheap for a home.
In these times of economic crisis, why are we still living in insanely expensive bricks and mortar?
