Replacement air compressor pump

	Does anyone know where I can get a replacement "direct drive" compressor pump from? I have a 50L 3HP single phase compressor but the pump is knackered (both heads cracked and it is missing the valves from the top of the pistons). I tracked down the manufacturer/importer (SIP) but they no longer stock the spare parts I need. I am aware of the Clarke pumps available but they don't seem to be direct drive. Thanks in advance.

	I think it would be easier to find a similar unit with a defective motor and combine the 2. Or perhaps a (non-direct drive) motor/compressor combination and transplant the tank.

	I have just spoken with SIP again today, got put through to a more technical department. He confirmed that the parts I need are no longer stocked, so I asked if I could buy just the pump unit off a newer compressor with similar specs, he came up with a part number and said I would just need to modify the mounting saddle on the tank to accept the new pump. I then called my local SIP stockist for a price, about £180 inc VAT. I just have to decide if it is worth it or not, the complete compressor is about £270.

	At that, I'd just be buying a new compressor, with three years warranty or whatever. You can use the tank off the old one to increase the capacity of the system if you want.
