it came on a horrible, horrible trike that was seemingly mostly cortina based (english axle, 2l autoboxed pinto, cortina gauges and switches). so i assumed mk3/4/5 'tina, but i don't think the mounting plate should be at an angle, should it? i then thought transit, but apparently the front line should be bigger on them and they're both the same size here(m10). any help greatfully received!

Pretty sure that's a sierra one.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Looks Sierra.. Looks identical to the one we used for building a kit car, and that's from a pinto Sierra.

I guess it could be sierra. I just cant identify which sierra! its different to another one I have that is labelled as sierra, but ive just looked on ebay and so far have come across 6 different types looks like its one of those parts they liked to change regularly for no particular reason. it looks as thought the canted mounting flange location is specifically sierra though, cheers guys either way, after a quick rebuild it should be perfectly suited to the 100e build I'm doing for the missus, which saves a few quid!

Went outside and took a photo - any help ('90 ghia twincam) It's similar, but not the same as the one you have - the pipe outlets are in different places. I can well believe there are 6 types too

It looks very much like the one on my 1980 MK2 Escort 1.6 X-flow.The only diference is the lines exit on the other side. The mounting is on an angle so the fluid marker lines sit parallel to the ground. Mine has a servo so the master sits at the end of the servo tower.

sierra or poss mk3 escort servo type.
due to the 3 pipes & diagonal mounting holes more likely sierra.
def not transit,capri/escort 2, cortina or granada.

theres more to life than mpg & to much power is just enough.

as noted above its deffo not transit, mk2 escort, cortina, etc. the mounting flange rotation is wrong. with the help on here ive narrowed it down to sierra, and its seems its probably the type fitted to boggo late non-abs sierras and p100s.

It could be a master cylinder from one car joined to a reservoir from another. The actual cylinder looks like a mk4 escort one

Nuts was just gonna say checked my p100 today and appart from the lid (should be yellow) it's identical BUT without the colourd band you'll have to strip it and measure the bore. For referance in the future Tie Wrap Color Bore Size Black 15.9mm (5/8") Blue 17.8mm (0.70") Green 19.1mm (3/4") Orange 20.6mm (13/16") Red 22.2mm (7/8") White 23.8mm (15/16") Yellow 25.4mm (1.0")
