amazingly, in all my years working on cars, ive never owned a set of these or worked on a car with them, so I'm in the dark a bit on fitments here. ive just got a set for the missus prefect I'm building, as temps cos they were cheap til i band some steels for it. to me the wheel bolt holes look abnormally large, i was expecting just 12mm holes to accept a taper seat nut like most metric ford wheels. but it looks as though they should have a sleeved 'mag' nut, but with a conical washer as well? is this correct or have they been f-ked with? the wheels are 6x13 dated '82 (i assume capri laser) if that makes any difference. if thats right, are they commonly available in 7/16" UNF thread to fit a 105e axle, or are they metric only? (i.e. cheapo stock fitment not custom aftermarket as i don't want to yog a load of money on nuts for temp rims).ive got enough studs kicking round to go metric if necessary, would be nice if i didnt have to dick about opening out the holes in the halfshafts and stuff though. if you have a set of em going cheap feel free to try to flog me em

Metric only as far as I know, still available from Ford (not cheap) a lot of the Ford alloys used the same nuts Granada, Sierra ghia i.i.r.c had them so do transit connects with alloys my last full set went to 4dr off here might have a few lying about, I'll have a look at the weekend if nobody else comes up with a better offer.

The conned ones for allys are hard to find in non metric cos they never came from the factory only flat washer ones for the Mk1 RS wheels, you need to use the propper nuts with the washers on! or every time you do them up they will grind away the seat part of the wheel and eventually they will just pull though, I would never use standard non washer nuts on allys unless they have a steel seat insert or a sperate conned steel washer like you used to be able to get to cover the issue. Use the washer ones! i've seen many laser wheels pull off over the years through use of non washer steel nuts TBH it would be cheaper if pos to just change the studs to metric and get some nuts off a mondeo from the breakers and a lot safer than using normal non washer nuts on an alloy wheel.

bortaf, I agree holeheartedly. plain conical nuts are obviously really not the right thing for the job.
dazcapri, id be grateful if you would.
ive now found a box with a few of what I think are mondeo nuts, as they're a kind of shank nut with the conical washer, but they also have a taper cut on the bottom of the shank too, which I assume is for the steel spare wheel so you don't need to change the nuts to fit it? I only have 11 though, about half of which are missing the stainless covers too. ile post a pic of one on monday to see if anyone can confirm.
I did find the correct nuts in 7/16" unf on ebay, but they're as much as the wheels cost, so it look like ive be converting to metric from my large assortment of wheel studs/nuts/bolts!

I'm sure i can find the rest to make up a set, i probably have enough to cover the ones missing the covers (that changes the size and 19mm can slip when the covers aint there) i'll check see what i have in the boot of me cortina. They do both steels and ally cos ford were too tight to give 5 alloys as standatd lol where about in essex ae you? i'm going to rettendon one day next week to drop an engine off could drop off/meet up ect ?
