The Lister Coupe looks superb, but as a package the Le Mans really appeals to me. I mean you would be a little crazy to take one of the smoothest riding cars and basically turn it into a race car for the road . Those 7 Litre V12s barely idle and really do shift, a man's engine.

Like that XJC - you just can't make them look bad from any angle, lovely.
The XJS must be an 'acquired taste' as I'd much prefer one fairly standard looking with X300 rims + hit with stick... 7.0 V12 would be epic until you looked at the fuel gauge!

There used to be one in Bromley (probably the one Jonny saw) and there also used to be a Lister'd XJ Coupe in Fulham. Yes, the one in Bromley was the local one. It went up the high street one Friday night (when Bromley was full of drinkers). There always used to be a string of Max Power wannabes razzing up the road, but this just stopped everyone outside dead in their tracks as it went past, leaving a scent of what smelled like R40. They really do sound completely bonkers. I may remember a Lister Coupe in Fulham now you mention it. There were a few unusual cars doing the rounds and this might be one of the ones in a distant memory of mine.

I always considered the LeMans to be a bit of a race car for the road (10MPG if you are lucky, an idle most race cars would be proud of with a heavy clutch to boot), which happened to have the most pimp white Recaros chucked in for fun.

Blah, blah, Bromley, blah, blah Fulham, blah The Bromley one lived in a big Victorian detached house in the road that ran down the side of the sorting office. The Fulham Coupe used to park in a road off of North End Road, it was black with black trim and had Lister turbo rims under standard arches.
