My 5,300th post, so I'm going with this swish Jaguar XJS, whose V12 engine boasts 5,300cc. (Well, 5,343 if you're being pedantic, but I want to share this Jag now!) OK, if you want to be really pedantic, this isn't a 5.3-litre XJS at all. I was brazenly lying to your faces. Lying! It's a Lister Le Mans, with 7.0-litres, around 500bhp and a 200mph top-speed (unless you went for twin-superchargers, in which case you'd be staring down the thick end of 700bhp). Saucy. My new favourite alloys, right there. ;D

Completely, utterly HARD AS NAILS!!
These are just proper British old school bruisers.
Good milestone post.

Apart from the one that used to blat around locally when I was a teenager, I've never managed to get a decent look at one in the meat. There's actually very little that resembles XJS on this car. Was it actually based on an XJS chassis or shell at all or does it just look a bit like one? I remember in real life those arches are massively pulled out, the rear roofline is completely different and the front is different too.

As far as I'm aware they were based on XJS chassis and shells, although they changed pretty much everything...

dbiz - clicky beat you to it :P ;D But as with most thing's photo and info related I concede defeat to your superior post ;D Awesome pics and an awesome car, although I thought for some reason they were 7.0 litre, 604bhp 200+mph

There used to be one in Bromley (probably the one Jonny saw) and there also used to be a Lister'd XJ Coupe in Fulham. The XJSs look better in the flesh and the XJ Coupes look better still IMO. The one in Fulham was black with the Lister turbo-style wheels. Sadly, the best pictures I can find have got the wrong rims on...but check out the de-chroming job.

I love XJSessesessess anyway, and the Lister is just something else- but the other two are examples of how to make an attractive car less so, and that's putting it lightly.
Not seen the XJ Coupe before- that's gorgeous.
