I'm at a loss as to how to fix the lights on my '93 Volvo 240 Torslanda wagon.
I changed the front end (wings, slam panels, lights, grille, bonnet, etc) on my 1993 for a round headlight 1978 set and also fitted a sub and amp. Now the dash lights (cluster and instrument panel) and tail lights won't work. Having checked the fuses, the bottom two blow as soon as you put the lights on,and seeing as the headlights work I'm assuming it's a problem with the rear lights. The standard fuses are 8A and it easily blows a 30A fuse within a second or so.
I hunted around last night for any visible problems, and the hidden electrical ones I keep reading about. I removed the bulbs and wiggled all the wires on the back of the light clusters and now the rear indicators have packed up too!! Grr!!
I checked the wires in the tailgate hinge and the offside wires are all sliced (common 240 problem) so I took them out but haven't figured out how to reconnect them. I can't see how these wires would affect the driving lights though as the tail lights aren't on the tailgate, and these wires are for the heated rear window and the rear wiper.
The rear fog, all 3 brakes and the reverse lights all work. Sorry to ramble...any help would be greatly appreciated!!
