	Mk 2 Cortina front suspension info! Hello to all, sorry my first post is a question but was recommended to ask here from another forum On the later suspension setup on the Mk2, there is a piece of rubber in the upper mounting that the top of the piston sits in but I want to know if the rubber is supposed to twist or the piston twits in the rubber!! We are doing some work on a Mk2 and on one side the rubber twists in the upper mounting but the other side it’s solid! We are just trying to find out how it works. If it helps the piece I’m talking about in on page 171 Fig.11.3 number 6 in the Haynes manual. Thanks Mark

	You mean the rubber mount on the top of the Strut? I'm fairly sure that the rubber is an isolator, the damper rod shouldn't twist and the spring cup (in the inner wing) should turn with the steering. I'll check for you on an actual mk2 tina tomorrow sometime and report back.

	Yes you are right and thanks. What part is meant to turn with the stirring? On the pre 67 there is a bearing at the top of the spring assembly but on the later type there is nothing! The upper mounting is obviously fixed to the wing but inside the mounting there is a piece of rubber and then a steal spacer that the piston fits into. Currently the piece of steal is turning inside the rubber and we don’t believe that’s right! Thanks for your help

	mine is a post '67 (it's a 68 s2). I'll check what it does/doesn't do tomorrow.
