Evening People, I got out and did 40miles in the car today and it was as good as gold, even the missus didn't mind it. Had a few strange looks in sainsburys car park too! When i got home i went up the workshop to carry on with the engine mounts. I flipped the O/S mount over to finish we;ding it up Ive been using MIG but TIG would have made a neater job, unfortunately i don't have access to a TIG welder so that's that the new mount clears the water pipe fine Then it was back to the other side, where i welded round the tubing that sits on top of the rubber engine mount Zap And started on the triangulation to it - at which point my electric ran out so that was the end of that! Last couple of pics were in the dark James

Greetings good people! I had a couple of spare hours after work tonight so i got on with the inlet manifold. I started with this I needed to lower the edge closest in the pic so the plate sat flush with the plenum So i removed this pesky beast and did some more fettling Getting there Turning my attention to the manifold its self i removed this water way as it was in the way i will address this mess later With that out of the way i could linish the manifold flat and to the required angle As so Allowing the plenum sit like this Getting fed up of holding it i decided to zip tie it in place so i could take some better pics and a few measurements I'm happy with the way it is sitting now

Pleasingly more Progress was made this evening Volvo 4 pots stripped De greased Hot washed And dried Looking much better and ready for some further cleaning Then back to the manifold - marked the important areas out Card board lends a hand All marked out on to the mill Test run First one done Then there were 3 stage one complete Then put a nice chamfered profile on the edges Stage two complete It came out ok for a 'by eye effort' The plate goes here on the manifold And looks like this inside the plenum I will probably finish the profile by hand to get them spot on Thanks for looking James

Looking sweet, Man! When i was reading this thread i thought to myself that i saw a similar one in my home town of worthing and someone previously posted that it was bought from worthing. I used to see it driving around Worthing every now and then, If i remember correctly there was either a young asian woman or a faily old asian man. Fairly looked after though!

Nice fab skills. I can't decide whether I think the rear wheels need spacers or not. Some pics say yes, others no.

Ideally i would like the rims to be wider with more dish but they will do for now

Looking forward to more progress on the mounts and installation as I have got most of the bits for a similar (corsa GSi non turbo/ type 9 'box) job. Wont be as nice as yours with all that neat machining and ally work though!

Thanks Curryracer i would be interested to see what your up to with yours! I've made a small amount of progress with the manifold however i have been working on my 944 today so i haven't had any time for the Kadett Manifold progress I machined this edge off to help the air flow inside the manifold Then chopped off the excess Ali from the back plate (annoyingly my plasma needs a new tip so it was a pita to cut up neatly) And neatened it up a little - nearly ready for welding!
