Hi guys, when my rover gti goes I'm going to be left with 6 alloys with good tyres, and I'm hoping to use them on whatever i get next...
they are 4x100 with a 56.1 centre bore, a lot of the cars I'm looking at are vag group, 4x100 57.1, would i be ok just dremelling out the extra mm?
probably an obvious yes, just wanted to check! been trying to get someone to run a golf round so i can trial fit tbh!

yeah - you only need half a mm all round, its sod all. If you can get in with a half round file you'll do a better job, probably quicker too.

An end-of-drill flap wheel might make a tidier job than a dremel.

An end-of-drill flap wheel might make a tidier job than a dremel. True story. That said, absolutely anything will make a neater job than a dremel!

We used a die grinder to enlarge the bore on some Mini one wheels (56.1) on my fiancée's Corsa (56.6). Just worked round the bore in a quick circular motion and then kept test fitting the wheels until the bore was enlarged enough to allow them to sit properly on the hubs. This tool: For this job:

I took 2 mm off the centres of the rear wheels on the truck with a pair of rat tail files - it took frikking ages, but it was the only option, as it was the night before the MOT, and it one of those 'I'll just swap the back wheels and we'll be sorted - SH*T!' kinda moments
as I was doing it I was wishing I had a flap wheel / dremel / anything! - but it did work!

Thanks Micrat, shes very proud of it Scruff: Yeah they are hub located, that's why we took care to make sure we only took off what was needed to get the wheels on the hub and no more. Its a bit of a tight fit getting them on and off but by no means do you have to force them...
