As the title says, what are the differences between the mgb gt rear axle and the mgb gt v8 rear axle? Is the v8 rear end stronger?

Pretty sure they are the same, just different ratio to suit the V8 engine

2 types of MGB axle AFAIK...
'Banjo' axle in earlier cars, and the Sailsbury type axle in the V8 and late B's.
The later axles are about 30 kilos heavier, so they add a lot to the unsprung weight. I believe they will take more power, but the banjo axle will cope with a fair old wack.
V8's also have a much longer diff than the 4 pot, and these are hard to find and worth a bit.

Yes that is it.
As said, the axles themselves are the same in both 'B and V8 items, but final drive ratio differs between a V8 and B Series item.

The V8 diffs may be worth more due to their ratio. For this reason (and rarity when buying secondhand) Stag diffs command more than their 2000/2.5 counterparts (although I believe 2.5 Diffs are not worth that much less).
