Additional Information:
Here is my Mondeo for sale. The car is generally in excellent condition but the turbo has expired. It looks as though the impeller has come off it's axis and has fouled the housing. The car still runs but obviously not as I'd hope. It billows clouds of white smoke which is the unburnt diesel due to having no turbo boost. The rubber pipe to the turbo is also damaged and would need replacing.
Before the turbo went it was running very well and was a very comfortable and economical cruiser. The car has a good level of trim being a Ghia and is very smooth to drive. Being the 130bhp model it really did go quite well and I was very surprised coming from an BMW E39 528i how nippy it was.
I looked into replacing the turbo but I do not have the time or patience to do it. If you're half decent with cars I think it should be a pretty simple job. The turbo is the pneumatically actuated type and the turbo model details are shown in the picture of the turbo ID plate.
Obviously the car is nine years old and does have some very minor blemishes, please don't expect a showroom finish but it is still a very clean car. There is a small cigarette burn in the drivers seat which was there when I got it (you can just see it on the side bolster in the pics), otherwise the interior is pretty spotless.
The car has standard Ghia alloys with good tyres all round (6 - 8mm tread). It had a new battery on it in June this year before I bought it and unluckily for me I'd just filled it with deisel before the turbo went, so there's £60 straight away. The trip computer was showing approximately 50+ mpg when the turbo went and the 5 or so miles smoking it back home dropped it to the 41.7 showing on the pics. I have the V5 in my name and some limited history for the car before I bought it. The MOT runs until May 2012.
The car will need to be trailered / towed away as it produces lots of smoke and would be a danger to other road users.
I have got the car advertised on ebay, item no 130601082198 with a start bid of £249 which I what I've been offered scrap for it. It really is too good to scrap and with a bit of work would be a good daily (which is what I bought it for).
Give us a shout / PM if you need any more info and I'll be happy to help. Some of the pics aren't great but it always seem to be bloomin dark when I've got a spare few minutes. If there's any particular areas where people want to see just let me know.
